Sandbox Summit™ at CES 2008
A Playdate with Technology™

Overview & Agenda | Speakers | Exhibitors

Every year, thousands of techies, geeks, investors, inventors, media-makers, and the mere curious head to Las Vegas for the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the largest display of electronic products in the world. In 2008, for the first time ever, attendees had a new destination on their list: The Sandbox Summit™, a conference and exhibit that  took a look at how technology is affecting the way kids play, learn, and connect.

The meteoric rise of toys with chips, social networking, and digital gadgets clearly signals a shift in the type of toys kids use and the types of play they enjoy. Recognizing that we have "crossed the digital Rubicon," The Sandbox Summit™ asked the question, how can we make sure techno-toys engage our kids' minds, not just their hands?

A day of key industry speakers, educators, marketers, journalists and researchers addressed a standing-room-only crowd offering new insights into the toys, trends, and products that are shaping our kids' lives today. Four days of exhibits  at the Sands  gave Sandbox Summit attendees opportunities to test-drive the gear that's defining the next generation.

The event at CES in 2008 was co-produced by Claire Green, Wendy Smolen and Robin Raskin.
